This may be better dealt with at the state level, but I believe all drivers should turn on their headlights when it is raining outside. Rainy conditions can be dangerous and visibility is often poor. More importantly, your headlights help other drivers see you better. A law may not be necessary but education from the city or state would certainly encourage drivers to turn the headlights on and make the roads safer for ...more »

Currently SAWS is offering various incentives to remove grass from residential property, replacing with mulch and native plants - including via the WaterSaver landscape program: http://www.saws.org/Conservation/Outdoor/ Meanwhile in D7, new residential sidewalks on some streets are currently being finalized with the installation of new grass turf on COSA property between the curb and the sidewalk. COSA should work with ...more »
The City of San Antonio has some great outdoor pools. . . that are inaccessible too many hours of the day, days of the week, and weeks of the year, discouraging outdoor swimming and related activities at our parks and in surrounding areas. It is embarrassing to note that cities including Austin, Miami and even Cleveland and Pittsburgh offer better access to public outdoor pools, typically from sun-up to well after sun-down, ...more »
Thought exercise here... If you had $1000 of City funds to allocate towards any goals that you value, what would they be? Feel free to include goals that you specifically would allocate $0 towards.

As a pre-fire former resident of the Wedgwood highrise apartment building there are some city policy/ordinances I would like to see. First, no future approval of apartment residences over 4 stories. Second, all senior residences must have an emergency evacuation PLAN and not just evacuation routes posted at elevators. Third, no more "grandfather" exceptions. Fourth, all senior apartment complexes must have sprinkler systems. ...more »
My name is Mari Aguirre-Rodriguez and I am running for City Council in District 7 and I want your feedback on the future of our city and District 7. What are the biggest transportation and infrastructure needs you would like our City to address in District 7. For example, I know we need to work on easing the congestion woes on San Antonio roads, specifically on Bandera Road and ensuring citizens have the drainage, sidewalks ...more »

It has come to my attention that Bexar county does not require vehicular emissions testing. I also see that diesel vehicles are exempt from testing even in those relatively few counties in Texas that require emissions testing. How might we encourage cleaner vehicles? Lung issues and asthma are a major health issue in San Antonio, in part because of the cedar and oak pollens, but also because the particulate matter and ...more »
Why, in a city the size of San Antonio, do we only have 2 official Probate Courts? Accidents happen. Everyone gets old. Everyone dies. Probate court is the court that most of use will have to deal with at some point in our lives. Currently we have 3 "visiting judges" taking up the slack. 3 judges that were not elected by the public yet hold awesome power over the lives of your elderly, incapacitated and estates. There ...more »

The City should step up and see if we can find some public funds to keep B-Cycle in San Antoni. Like Uber and Lyft, I think B-Cycle is an important service in the city that tourists and locals both enjoy.
I don't think the City should fully fund them, but some support is warranted.
Interested to hear everyone's thoughts on this, too!
